Hey there guys!!

First of all, thanks to all my brand new watchers!! I love you all guys

As most of you might know by now, english is NOT my primary language, it's spanish, so, sometimes it is really hard to put into words the things you ask me :)

Now, some of you asked me a lot of times WHY I like Twidash? Well, for starters, it is not a secret anymore that I love it :meow: but it's really complicated for me to explain it on a way that you can understand me, so, instead, I decided to copy-paste the words from a FimFiction author I follow: Kodeake www.fimfiction.net/user/Kodeak…

He share the exact same opinion about Twidash as me, so I asked permission to do this copy-pasted journal :XD:

In hopes that you understand me I post it, and I will just add some extras in the end, I just took the fragments that seems right to me, so, let's start!  :)

"So... Twidash... let's start with the easy to answer question; why do I personally like it.

Simply put, it was the first ship fic I ever read, and I got attached. I've tried reading other ships and none of them have the same spark Twidash did. I think part of the reason is that I identify quite closely with both Twilight and Rainbow, so them being together feels right to me.

But that's just me.

The harder question is why it's a good ship. Being completely unbiased, I think it is a good ship. Not just because I like it but because it seems a relationship between two with characters such as them would work well and last if done correctly. It's not just an "opposites attract" scenario at all if you really look into it, like I have done and try do to in many of my fics.

It's important to not focus on how they're different from each other but rather how they're similar.

If their differences are the magnets that draw them together, then their similarities are the glue that holds them.

On the surface, the two couldn't be any more different. But there's a difference between different and incompatible. One is a simple thing; differing likes/dislikes/opinions/viewpoints and the like. Incompatible would be two personalities that just would not work well together in a romantic scenario.

"But Kodeake!" I hear you cry, "Dash always takes control! That's her character!"

Yes, that is her character, but it is also Twilight's. She's in constant control of her own life and tries to keep everything orderly. There would be a struggle for power between the two, without a doubt, but ultimately they would battle themselves to a middle ground where they have equal control, which is ideal. This similarity is one of their strongest; the leadership instinct they both have. Twilight has led the M6 before, and Dash already recognizes her as a leader, so in a relationship this would carry over. Yes, she'd still like to take charge, but Twilight is equally able to pass the torch onto those she trusts.

Another similarity is one I like to focus on in my fics; their determination. In different fields, sure, but it's plain as day they both have the same fighting spirit. The same desire to succeed. I emphasize this because it's the easiest for people to understand, much easier than trying to explain how they both recognize each other as a leader.

It's important to have personality similarities, but also some common likes and dislikes, otherwise the couple would never agree on anything and constantly be fighting, which can and does evolve into worse and worse situations. Daring Do and reading is the most obvious example shown in the show, but it's easy enough for an author to give them a few more that don't go against canon; foods and a hobby or other little things that give the two some common ground on which to start and move forward.

However, that's just one end of that spectrum; the other end, where the personalities are too similar, is perfectly shown through Appledash. I think the ship could work.... for a while. In the end, I think it would fail. Competitiveness is fine, and is a fun twist to throw in a bit of a challenge in a relationship, but Appledash takes this to the extreme, turning every little thing into a competition. That would, eventually, grow tiresome. It's a ship that would only work in the long-haul if the story shows the characters developing and learning to not compete over every little thing, which requires a lot of commitment from the author. It's a good ship for long stories where the characters continue to change and grow, but for short little one shots I'm left with a feeling of dread, knowing that the ship would break apart if left as it is.

"But Kodeake!" I hear you scream, "Rainbow would still compete with Twilight!"

Yes, she would, but Twilight wouldn't bite the bait. If one has no competition, one has no need to compete. Occasionally Twilight could take the challenge, which keeps things interesting and fun for the both of them, but Twilight's able to back down from a challenge since she's naturally modest. She wouldn't feel the need to prove herself or be better, and as such Rainbow would feel no need to show that she's better. Thus, no over-competition. Neither of them would have to grow or change much at all for a relationship to form and last.

I see relationships as a balancing act, between similarities and differences, to keep things together and interesting. To keep the power balance roughly level, where one partner feels safe allowing the other to take full control from time to time if the situation calls for it. Yes, Twilight may have some issues relinquishing control to Rainbow, as organized and borderline OCD as she is, but she's shown that she trusts her friends. Forming a romantic relationship would increase this trust further and I have no problems seeing Twilight giving some of her control away to somepony she trusts. Namely, Rainbow Dash.

Twidash is, as far as I can tell, a perfect balance. Both of them are comfortable both leading and being lead, both of them have a similar characteristics but are different enough that conversations between the two could be engaging without turning into arguments, and because of how they are different they wouldn't have to worry about competing with each other."

Now,With all that set clear, I guess I must as well explain myself, first of all, yes, I do have some fics about MLP, specially Twidash-related, but I need money to live, so the fics will have to wait until I get enough time to get them clean.

As much of you know as well, the first fic I had the chance to read about shipping on MLP was "Trust" * www.fimfiction.net/story/4475/… * fic that leaded me to think that maybe, JUST maybe, they could work together, and, eventuallt, became a Twidash-full -heart-shipper :)

As he explained, I admit, I tend to attach to characters that get some common ground with me, what happened with Pilar and Serio from Combo Niños, I see them as equals and opposites both the same, with some similarities that appeal to my personality ^^ With Twi and Dash happened that same, since the very first episode, both of them called to my sense of colors, as you probably have noticed, I tend to purple colors, or, in the other hand, the rainbowed and bright stuff, and the fact that I love unicorns and pegasi since I was a little kid helped a bit more *actually, all mythical creatures like mermaids and fairies enter here*; then came the fact of the personalities of both characters, and the fact that they made me laugh more than any other including Pinkie XD With the subsequent episodes, I just grew more attached to them, to the point of trying to draw ponies :)

Now, I admit I was into the SoarinDash thing and the Flashlight before I even saw the movie, but, dear honest, not Sorin nor Flash offered me the same impact with those two, as Twi and Dash alone did together, and the fact that Flash Sentry was managed as the full-pack cliche *no offense to those who like him, I'm talking in technical mannerisms here, neutral state I swear :)* and Soarin was a never-appearance character,  just added more discomfort on my no longer like for those two couples, then, I discharged both characters from my regular creative bases, and simply focused on the main six, mostly on my top two favs: Twilight and Rainbow.

Now, to make some extra dots here, I like the RariJack couple, for the same reason I love Twidash, with Pinkie and Fluttershy, I don't see them that much as couple, but I had to pair those two with someone, and, since they were free, well...
:XD: Truth be told, with Pinkie and Fluttershy, I kind of see them together, on the fact that both are semi-bipolar characters in professional talking they can be happy/quiet one instant, and down/mad the other, which works on a funny way, but yet again, they don't appeal to me as much as Twi and Dash, or Rarity with AJ.  :)

Extra note, before the Appledash or Flutterdash fans come claiming for my head: in technical speech, I can't see the as couple terms for the reasons mentioned above: Rainbow and AJ are just far too competitive to actually handle more than just a friendship *no more details, Kodeake explained already*; with Fluttershy, well, first of all, not always long-term friendships, like childhood ones, lead to relationships, second, they are simply too different to even help them match, Dash is, by character, brash, stubborn, hyperactive and hot headed, what sometimes gets her the tendency to get in big troubles, on the contrary, Fluttershy is simply too shy, even coward, down headed and easy to control by force for her own good, what would, in fact destroy eventually their relationship, while one just wants to be on the sky and action, the other just won't move at all, and, if you watch it with impartial eyes, tends to ride Rainbow really frustrated with Fluttershy. While Dash tends to actually take the lead as most as she can, tis just don't happen with Twilight, for she looks at her as friend, equal and even, main leader, what makes her to actually turn her brash mood down, *put on words: notice she tends to always turn to Twilight for help, answers, or plans, and not just her, but the five of them, and, whenever she makes sometime, to say the least, stupid, it's Twilight the one who gets the common sense on her*.

Next to add here, out of the psychological thing for stories and their personalities, I repeat, they appeal to my color sense, what would explain WHY I draw them so much, and how I pair them for the many pictures I do about MLP-EG If some of you have noticed, Twi's purple strand on her mane, is the same purple as Dash's strand on her mane, and Rainbow's eye color-base, is the same as the one on Twi's pink strand and star on her cutie mark, what made me notice how easy you can mix them, and the color palette would match just perfect :) Same thing came to me with Pinkie and Fluttershy: Fluttershy's mane is the very same color and Pinkie's furr :)

Now, just to add my final notes here: first of all, I do respect everyone's likes and opinions, even when I do not agree with the Appledash or the Flutterdash, it does not mean that I will go attacking people for that, so I please ask the same respect to me and my opinions, and for my friends and people that follows me or comment me. My enjoyment of the Twidash ship, is simply too big to get rid of it, but it doesn't mean I don't like other MLP ships, I actually like some others out of the main six *most of them yuri couples thanks to the lack of male characters on scenario, but I don't mind XD* Probably I will eventually tell you the full list guys :)

I hope this helps clarify the whole Twidash point, also hope I made it as clear as possible, and hope people don't hate me for this :)

Remember that every soul is a different world, and we should respect it :aww:

That's all by now, love you guys!!

Keep awesome, guys!!

Kim out. Peace. :iconakemishikima: :blackrose: :jsenn: :skull:
